How It Works
  • To enjoy camp comfortably, we recommend bringing the following:

    Riding Essentials

    • Your hobby horse

    • Bridle or reins (if used regularly)

    • Comfortable training clothes

    • Indoor training shoes with good grip

    Safety & Comfort

    • A helmet (recommended for jumping sessions)

    • Water bottle

    • Light snack (if needed between sessions)

    Optional but Helpful

    • Gloves (for longer training)

    • Small repair kit (tape or spare strap)

    • Notebook for training goals

    Please avoid bringing

    • Valuable accessories that may break easily

    • Items not suitable for active movement

If you are unsure about equipment or sizing, feel free to contact our stable before camp.

  • Safety is part of professional hobbyhorsing.

To keep training enjoyable for everyone, we follow a few key rules:

    Riding Space Awareness

    • Always check your surroundings before jumping or turning

    • Keep a safe distance from other riders

    • Respect warm-up and landing zones

    Jumping Safety

    • Never jump when someone is standing too close to the obstacle

    • Focus on controlled approach, not speed

    • Stop immediately if equipment feels loose or unsafe

    Equipment Responsibility

    • Riders are responsible for checking their stick connection and bridle before training

    • If something breaks, inform an instructor right away

    Community Respect

    • Encourage other riders

    • No teasing or negative comments

    • Hobbyhorsing is a sport built on support and confidence

Professional riding starts with good habits.

  • Camp training is designed for riders aged 10–14 who want to improve in a structured way.

Our approach focuses on three pillars:

    Technique

Good riding is built on posture, control, and repeatable movement — not just enthusiasm.

    Safety and Stability

We train with awareness, proper warm-up, and respect for the body.

    Competition Understanding

    Different disciplines require different skills:

    • Jumping demands balance and rhythm

    • Freestyle demands expression and control

    • Both require confidence and preparation

Our goal is not perfection — it is progress, enjoyment, and real skill development.

  • If you have any questions before camp — about equipment, sizing, training level, or preparation — we are always happy to help.

    📧 stable@hobbyhorses.fi

We usually reply within 1–2 business days.

Clear communication helps riders and parents feel confident, and we want every participant to have a safe and exciting experience.

Thank you for being part of the hobbyhorsing community.
